Zelda Twilight Princess Topic

Post by madc0w »

I thought we should devote a topic to the discussion of this one game, since about half of the forum just bought it. First impressions, reveiws, tips, etc. Just keep it relevant.
First, I think the game looks freaking beautiful. Not like "I CAN SEA THEYRE SWEAT AWSOME!!!" Beautiful. Like an amazing game beautiful. The art direction is great, and the visuals look just so nice with the rest of the game. I would also like to say that the gameplay is pretty nice. The horseriding is intuitive, without making the horse too hard to control.
Ok, can someone help me? How the !@&* do I fish? I keep screwing it up, and I need to get one for the freaking cat.

I dont have a wii yet. the only reason I would get one at this point is if red steel is good, which I dont know if it is. Im getting mine for gamecube though. kind of sad  . It will probably be the last game I buy brand new for the cube, And I love the system. we've been through the good and bad, from the time I almost traded it for a PS2 (luckily my brother convinced me not to) to the time I FINALLY found a copy of jedi outcast for under $40 (I got it for $5 at a rummage)

also I just realised something: the wii has sold more in a few hours than the 32x did ever!

Well, in the couple of hours that I've played it, I must say it does look quite nice. I was slightly disappointed by the music, however, both in quality of sound and quality of writing. The chorus in the beginning sounds a lot like samples, as does the rest of the music. And Navi or whatever that fairy thing is can get quite annoying when you point it at stuff (the noise it makes as you move, specifically). Besides those minor problems with it, I must say I love it :D. I need a lot more time with it before a finale verdict, though...
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

To fish: cast line at fishes, hold remote very still, when bobber starts bobbing down wrench the controller up like your hookin it.

just throw the bobber in the water and let it sit for a little bit then when you see the bobber go under jerk back and hold B and it will catch it. thats how i did it!

Alright, assign the rod to B, then press b to pull it out, and b to toss the line. Make a casting motion with the wiimote and you should see the bobber floating in the water sideways, then it rights itself.

You should see fish come near the bobber, then the bobber will go completely underwater. Whip the wiimote back and it will say "You got a fish" or something along those lines. Then you use the nunchuck like you are reeling it in (move it in a circular motion).

I'm not quite to the first temple, i have only logged like 50 minutes, and just got out of the large tower with midna, i think that i need to get the sword and shield soon...

For those of you having trouble fishing in Zelda: Out of curiousity, have you ever fished before?

Did you just make that up or something? :P

To fish- just cast your rod and wiggle the nunchuck to attract fish, be patient. Once you get a bite, just point the wiimote straight up and hold it there until you get the fish, no nunchuck-realing required...

Oh and also note, sometimes the cat doesn't take the fish the first time, just try again!

No, I'm fairly certain I saw a preview video of a guy playing Zelda at a game convention and he was explaining how you fish. And he did the reeling thing.
