PSone modchip question

Post by wallydawg »

Yeah so I've been thinking of "upgrading" my Playstation, from the current grey bulky one to the sleek PSone. I'm going to be in the hospital for about a month, and it seems the PSone would be less of a hassle to bring (not as big, easier to connect psone screen to, etc).

Anywho, my bulky ps1 is chipped. If I did decide to upgrade, could I just take the chip out of my old psone and swap it into the new one, or would I have to go and buy a whole new modchip?

I'm pretty sure you'll need a different chip.
