thats a rough drawing of about how i want it laid out. (go go mad ms paint skills)

im planning on using either some pvc drain pipe or some other round large piece of plastic as its easier to work with (then doing vacuum molds or whatnot) and looks better then something i would make otherwise or buy, to build the walls of the case and use lexan or plexi for the top and bottom. the round shape i think should feel pretty good. ill put the shoulder buttons on the sides and on the left under the L button ill put the Z button so i have all the controls if needed.

ill use clear top and mask off the window for the screen and spray the inside to give it a clean look on the color.

i plan on having it completely usuable for a tv also with the additional controller ports and a/v out as well with a a/c in with the ability to turn off the screen.

the screen will prolly be this

http://www.shop.com/op/~Additional_Moni ... urceid=298

i will attempt a led back light mod (if its possible with this screen). other mods i want to use with it is build in 1 or 2 rumble packs as well as putting in a memory card slot.

i plan on using a 3600 mah rc bat (if i get more then an hour or so of play time ill be pretty happy)

let the fun begin. :roll:

The design is interesting; I'd like to see how it turns out. And I wouldnt recommend the Rumble, as it could go crazy and mess up the innards of your portable, and thats something that I dont think you'll want.

if i do put them in

i plan on place it/them inside a piece of pipe or a box so the weight wont strike anything. everything will be attached pretty well so i dont plan on anything moving unless i take a hammer to it =)

the only things that will keep me from putting them in is, 1- power consumption, 2- the difficulty have the rumbles wired with a memory slot and figuring out how to use both at the same time or switch between the two, or 3- not enough space.

If you do put in a rumble feature I remember someone used a rumble motor from a cell phone. Maybe you should look into that.
Meh, I don't post much.

for the weight of the whole thing i dont think they will provide enough vibration to be that noticable while playing.

but that could be a last ditch thing if the normal rumblers dont work out.

segasonicfan did the cellphone rumble for his pstwop

I believe he used multiple motors to achieve his desired effect (but not too many since it would spread the amps too thin.

looks interesting. i reccomend a PSone screen though because it has the brightness mod to make LED mods much easier to see.

If you have any questions on the TV IN/OUT aspect of the portable, just send a PM my way. I've implemented it in my portable and can help you on that aspect.
nope... can't think of anything I could possibly want to put in my Signature Block...

i was messing around with ideas of how to do that one day when i discovered that you can just connect both of them at the same time.

it may technically be possible to accidentally erase your memory card or something like that. but in my limited trials it seemed to work fine.

well that makes me feel better

if it can work ill take the risk of deleting my memory card just to have both at the same time

relocated the cart slot (ribbon cable and what not, easy job)

carved out what little i could to make the board smaller.

with all that i have done so far, havent fried it and its still working just fine. next up is to get a screen...

ill post pics when i can actually get a camera to take some pics...
