Ps2P vertical line fix??

Post by Vladakabrent »

Hey all! Progress on my Ps2p has been slow but good. I don't have a controller attached, nor do I know if I will at all (It's currently similar looking to Segasonicfans - minus the controller) He said that he fixed a vertical line problem by putting a 40uH inductor on the power line. Also, someone on the forum said that is what I need as well. I almost know that that would fix the problem with the vertical line.
Also, after a while the Screen gets dimmer (After maybe an hour, it gets to be unplayable) So, would the inductor fix that problem as well? If not, I'm guessing I could put an on-off switch on the LCD Screen would work; assumming the inductor wouldn't. All help is appreciated greatly.

Edit: Would this http://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDet ... 34-11-400M be a good choice for an inductor?

that part seems ideal. however, before you pay money for something, check any junk you have for a toroid inductor about the size of a quarter. it might work just as well. cant hurt anything to try.

if you are putting this in front of a switching regulator, then you probably should put a protection diode

couldn't he just have a diode off the cathod end of the battery and then place the inductor after that?

also the dimmer screen sounds like a voltage drop a large value capacitor should fix the voltage problem by cleaning and regulating the voltage
