EDIT: Haha, Harsh, look at your .tk site.
Yes, those crazy arab hackers hacked it again. Anyway, i'll see what i can do in my final version of the site. For now, i'm not releasing anymore pictures, until the code is done, which i estimate around Wednesday

EDIT: Well here's my compitition for that (Even tho there isnt one ):
ive decided that sacrificing my bloodpressure and good health for making a design in photoshop is not worth it.
photoshop makes me want to kill people (specifically the makers of photoshop) i was workin all fine and good and had some new stuff done and poof, my photoshop is gone, no warning or reason just gone. so ive decided that this is a pain in the ass and i will work on it more when im less murderous in mood
Ok, my design is prettty much ready, i cant just upload the code due to some complications. But there is one thing i must know, Does PoD's server support MySQL databases? It will have to. Also, to make everything go smoothley, may i upload and "Instal" everything by myself? Theres a few things that could be tricky. Anyway, PM me or post here. I'm ready to upload anytime
Also, I'm working on a special resource heavy layout for PoD on the side, not sure if it'll actually turn out as something I'll use though, but it's fun to mess with

If you want to see a code template, go to http://sandbox.portablesofdoom.org/pod2.html. If you really want you can make the code, and submit a screen shot for the first portion of the contest.
Part I:
Create an image of your design. This will be made to show your template and graphics.
Time Period: 1 Month
Part II:
Finish your design. This includes creating any graphics and code.
Please note that all coding will be done in CSS only.
Time Period: 2 Weeks
Now then, prizes will be given out to participants depending on their ranking. If you pass portion 1 but can not finish the 2nd portion (you can't code CSS), you will receive a lesser prize.
Currently these items are available:
NESp
Atari Flashback 2.0 with cartridge mod and ~23 games
If you want to donate items for prizes send me a PM.
So is this a redesign of the current template using straight CSS, or will you allow a separate javascript file? I see that someone will be using php, so does that mean that I can use other languages and not have only a CSS file?
I'd prefer it to be css only for compatibility and ease of use, but javascript could work too I guess. Something dealing with more than that might require more changes to the output from the site's scripting.
I dabble in the black art of web design myself, but I have to concentrate on my site for now. I'll see about maybe getting some concept art done, though.
Getting a tan while everyone else is in a blizzard... >.<
I would prefer not to make any concept art and go straight into coding, but I will post a nice pic of my work in progress (both competing designs) on sunday or monday.
Is there some other template that uses all that css markup? Because there are many blank functions that may serve a purpose, but have no actual implementation within the css in the template. I don't want to break something because there is no purpose for it in the css.
Excellent! I've been thinking over this rough idea, but I won't be able to get it into a picture for a while due to school and job, so this is great news to me.
PS: Who made the NESp? Is it perhaps one of bens?!
I think it's hilarious nobody's changed the logo yet. That thing has been scaring me away for years.
Can you hear it? It whispers "Kill me! Have mercy and just kill me!"
