Post by Scorp.ius »

Hi!

I have this Atari Clone with build in Games. Is it possible to do a video mod on this?

Here are some Pictures:

Yeah you should be able to make a VCSp out of it. I do have to tell you that you wont be able to cut it down, well easily.

Ah, let me guess, it came in a box labeled "Rambo"? I have the same one! It's PAL, in case you didn't know. NTSC (US) games won't work on it.

hmmm... i dont know for sure ;) I bought it in turkey perhaps 10 years ago. i dont remember the package but i dont think it was rambo written on it.

yes it is PAL, i have tried to insert a PAL cartridge (dig dug) but it didnt start. so i thought the slot would be a fake

PS i live in germany, so PAL is ok for me :D

Well if you're looking for a PAL mod, one was mentioned on in these forums, you'll have to search though. I'm sure it will work, just you might have to do some tracing or work figuring out where some spots are one your board in respect to an Atari 2600.

I looked that he board a little bit more. The cartridge slot does work, you might have to cut or add a switch to the grounding of the built in games. Once you do that you should be able to play games off cartridges.

phew... to be honest i unfortunately dont know how to spot those points. all i know is, that i need the pins 2,5,7,8 chroma and audio for the Video Mod

i would say, that the stella chip ist the big thing on the left side of the board, but which is pin 1 etc... :P

This looks like it uses a VCS-On-A-Chip.
