*chuckle* I couldn't get plastic...so why not foamboard?

I'm still re-wiring the controllers, and I need a battery and power regulator. The screen is an Audiovox VBP2000 screen.

! A fellow maker with foamboard! All right *virtual high five*. Just I recommend you use that temporarily. I built a previous NESp with foam board, as some of you may know, and it fell apart when I pressed A a tad to hard. If you do wish to use foam board, I recommend both actual nails, liquid nails, and some nice crazy glue. Believe me, :wink: . Anyway, kudos on a very nice and budding portable

Got some more done last night, just a bit of case to finish and my first portable will be done!

Er...right...batteries...

Make that, my first SEMI-portable!

I haven't got any batteries yet, but I imagine I'll go with something in the 4500-5000mAh range. 12v.

I also need a 7808 for the playstation power. It's currently still powered from the wall supply.

Actually, 7.2v-36v will suffice. It actually has a 7805 inside. it is just labeled as 7.5v as to match the screen, as one of the main purposes to release the psone was to have a screen that attatches, if not, they would have kept a grey one. So just give it 12v.

Had to fix some blown fuses last night, and the controller has a couple'a' bad wires, so I haven't made much progress...

But tonight is another night!

Everything with the exception of the batteries is done!!! The case is really strong, which I didn't expect with foamboard. I've already dropped it and it didn't break. :)

The screen is pulled out of a Audiovox VBP2000. Ironically the LCD panel is exactly the same panel as the one in the Sony PSOne screen. :lol:

The Audiovox ran me about $10 off of ebay (about $25 with shipping). The foamboard was ~$5, and the intenal components (other than the PSOne) were about $20 total.

I had to buy tools, etc (since my old soldering iron was broken and I couldn't find my hot glue gun), so that ran me about $40 more.

The PSOne was $34 at vintage stock, and the memory card (which I hardwired internally) cost $3.

So I guess I spent about $120 total on the project, including tools.
