The 'PC in' On HDTV's
On our HDTV, I notice that we have a 'PC in' area, as in a place where it seems I can plug in a computer VGA plug for video, and that green cord for audio. However, I was planning to hook up a VGA cable from a game console *cough360cough*. So, I guess I can hook up the VGA cable right there, but how about audio? Is there some sort of 'green cord' to left and right inputs adapter? Please help, thanks.

You'll need a 3.5mm Stereo Plug/2 RCA Plug cable for audio. Radio Shack used to sell these for about $4 but now I think they just sell the Monster Cable version for $20. You can buy a 6 foot version on www.monoprice.com for $2
And since you likely have a ton of electronics stuff sitting around, you could make your own, its not that hard, just figure out the left and right channels for the headphone plug.forrest wrote:You'll need a 3.5mm Stereo Plug/2 RCA Plug cable for audio. Actually, I'd like to buy this retail, I kind of er...want the 'best' for this HDTV hook up and now don't want anything with my marks on it, if you know what I mean, anyone have a direct link?
Actually never mind, I have some good wire (the 'good' kind) and lots of jacks, thanks peoples!

Well I was with my dad at Sam's Club and we were looking at some of the HDTVs. This one caught my attention, namely becaue it's size, price and it's supports up to 1080i HD resolution. That I've said and I'm looking to do, once I feel I can truly justify to myself the spending of money (yeah I'm stingy). That with any of my computers would be a wonder to behold.

Check to see what resolutions your TV can handle. On both of my HDTV's, they can only handle 1024x768 on VGA...

My HDTV is a CRT one, and I got it for 300 at Sears (it was an import from Canada, so I guess the exchange rates made it cheeper.. They don't sell it anymore though)
It supports only two resolutions natively to the CRT (being it's still a fixed frequency tube): 540p and 1080i
The resolutions list below is what it can do, and what it gets scaled too..
240p - 540p
288p - 540p
480i - 540p
480p - 540p
540p - (do i even need to mention this one?)
576i - 540p
576p - 540p
720p - 540p
1080i - 1080i (<< or that one either?)
1080p - 1080i
that chart may be true for other CRT HDTVs, as most CRTs are fixed frequency

I bought my TV roughly last summer, July 04. I think the resolution is approximately 1024*1080. The max High Definition it can go via the VGA port is 1080i, sadly no 1080p. Sony says Playstation can emit that signal, but it's not even official yet!
