Benheck.com redesign + Xbox 360 laptop !

Post by sammy »

I was suprised to see that the homepage of Benheck had changed when I opened it today.

On the top it says: Bandwith conservation edition, but I think you might as well keep it this way cause it looks very good and it was certainly up to a refreshment. Nice work Ben :)

How do you guys like it?

I've also seen a Xbox-360 laptop tab, but it is not working. The page is probably still in progress and I'm sure it will be up tonight (morning for you guys).

It's ok, but only for the podcasts right now.... The 360 laptop will murder you, post it without links, wayback it and use the wayback copy as the one you refer people to.
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.

Yeah that's likely what Ben was thinking of when he made the "bandwidth conservation" theme, the amount that will will be used by everyone and his grandma on the internet looking at the 360 laptop.

If the Atari 800 laptop or the overclocked FX chip is any indication of what numbers we'll get, the site and forum will be swamped with visiting guests. Oh and the new members, a.k.a newbies.

Better: Put it up on Google Pages. (And we can mirror it)

Too bad there isn't a "bandwidth guage" which can tell us how bad the stire's getting hammered this month. Well, in the possible but unfortunate event that this site goes down from excessive bandwidth use, let's use my forums as a temporary meeting place.

If you're using anybodys, why not mine? That's my entire site!
By the way, how much bandwith do you get on google pages? I have 100mb of space.

Yeah I've been thinking about a redesign anyway. This homepage takes half the load time (thus half the files) of the standard one.

I think it looks cleaner too, but I will revise it. This is a temp thing to lower bandwidth when I present the Xbox thing.

RE bandwidth, this site averages 5 gigs a day. Normally.

I think the temporary redesign is a pretty prudent measure. Nothing says "site getting hammered" like a wicked awesome XBox360 project. Smart move.

Yep, quit a lot. I could only handle about 3 times that at most! If you need any hosting of images im sure that many poeple would help. Images/videos.

Hey I found a back up page. I wil not post the link because of bandwith sucking but you can find it with the search button.

Edit: nevermind I saw the link at the bottom of the non bandwith sucking page. Sorry for that.

PoD can handle ~34GB/day bandwidth, so it's up to just about any mirroring duties.

Servage updated their BW to a terabyte then? If so I may move to them next year, being they are UK based. Shame I don't think they have shell access.
