power pinout

Post by gannon »

I know that most people don't know the exact power pins on the playstation, so here they are.
I got this info and picture from http://psxhelp.users4.50megs.com/subing100x.htm just to give credit where it's due.

bear with me now, i know very little about electronics.
i have the 500X~900X type playstation.

how exactly do i go about wireing this thing to a battery?

im totally confused about how to wire the reset, why theres two power sources, and what the ground is for. also where do the negative wires go?

thanks for your time.

Does the PSX need 8v? Can it work at say...7.2?

Great find! BTW, how much power (mah, mjilliamps, whatever you call them) does the PSone board take, and can it be modified to use less? (probably not, but it doesn't hurt to ask.)

This should be a sticky! :D

I know it's the PSX. The PSone doesn't have a power transformer inside it. (no room). I think it uses an external AC plug and an internal regulator to get the 3.3V leads. I just need to know the power consumption of the PSone board for my PSponep. Afetr all, this is the Playstation 32-bit section, right? :)

ive just acquired a fully working 100x playstation.

however i want tyo revive my 900x which has a mod chip for my import games. i burnt the power board out years ago.

i basically want to to to use the 100x power board to run the 900x mobo.

ive tried pluging it togather just to see what happened, but it didnt start. im guessing i need to swap the white reset with the purple to reset, im going ot try this this evening.

however, from my understanding of the diagram, it says that to "operate" the reset line has to run at "3 v 25". im not sure if this is meant to be 3.5v, but if it is then it is currently recieving a perment 3.5 from the current trace already.

im confused.
anyone have any advice?

i got my 900x (or one of the 5 pin ones) working by just connecting the 2 voltages and ground. i didn't do anything with the other pins. maybe it's different for different mobos though.
