airsoft modding...

Post by ganonbanned »

there is already a topic about nerf modding, so here is a question about airsoft modding.

heres the story: my brother , who has a whole bunch of little crappily made, spring loaded air-soft guns, invited his friends over. they went to my grandma and grandpas house and had a fight in the yard (big yard, lots of trees, that kind of stuffs). me and my friend got over there and took a few kids hostage. once the 5 other ones found out and word spred, we got PWNed (little kids jumping all over us while exetremely pissed, shooting us in the face).

anyway, I was wondering, Is there any way I can mod the guns to shoot better, and more effeiciently (not getting constantly jammed)?

Thanks,
Ty

well in my experience with airsofting the guns don't really get jammed but my friend has $30 guns so that might be why or there might be something already in the barrel or it could be the pellets that you are using.

I still don't get the concept of this and paintball; what's the point, exactly? It's not really realistic, it's not even all that interesting...

when your friend gets shot in the face by a gas powered sniper and you here the cursing and pain, you will get SOME satisfaction, its hard not to.

oh, and paintball wasn't made to be realistic, its not only a workout but most people enjoy it, and you get an adrenaline rush when playing speedball. Its also pretty active to get into the tournament paintball scene and play for cash and better markers.

Yeah, but you have to spend so much money for a good gun, good ammo, accesories, and such, it's really not worth it. Even when you consider the scalability of games using airsoft(or paintball), they still are unreliable and it's hard to know if anyone cheated.

Well with a gas gun you know for SURE when someone gets hit, and with paintball assuming you play at a field there are always refs present.

yes, but with a gas gun, you're paying for ammo and fuel. Also, about fields, there's another cost.

this is all true, as with most things that are enjoyable, you pay for what you get out of it.

This said, airsoft is still a considerable amount cheaper. A gas gun runs you 50 bucks, but it will be fully auto, and the bb's are the same price (like 10,000 for 7 bucks), and the gas is very cheap.

A CO2 cart lasts around 250 shots and you can pick up a box of 25 carts for 5 bucks.

With paintball, a field pass costs 20 bucks, plus most fields are NOT BYOP, so you are out 30-40 bucks on paint and 5 on air (nitrous)

Ah, but then I get at what I've been trying to this whole time: Laser Tag. This totally destroys your argument, as why pay for this when I can play Laser Tag for so much cheaper? Outdoor laser tag has better range than paintball, commercial-system wise, and the sensor systems are lighter than paintball gear.

If I were to get into either of the two, it would be airsoft. Its cheaper and less messy. I likely won't get into either of them though, because of lack of cash and real guns are funner.
And laser tag is pretty cheap at a place near my house, and my friends go there occasionally.

laser tag has quite a few cons and a not so many positives.

Laser tag gear is actually rather expensive if you want it to have good range (i'm talking 100 dollars + per vest, not to mention guns). It also isn't cheat proof, without a ref your friends can easily cover up their sensors with a shirt or something, just as easy as cheating in airsoft.

I know people who got those cheap 30 dollars for 2 vests and 2 guns deal and they were accurate at MAYBE 25 feet. This would hardly be good in any woods. So if you wanted just 4 vests and guns you would prob be out 600 dollars, this would pay for airsoft for 6 months, and if you pay to play you are playing indoor where you probably aren't allowed to run, and you are out 20 bucks for 3 games (this is around an hour).

Oh, and it there is no pain so there is no fear or adrenaline

why to you make portables...i mean it such a waste of money. you have to buy the console, the screen, batteries and all the casing. its just stupid, why not just play the console. the screen is bigger and more fun.

disclaimer: i dont agree with anything i just typed, but i'm just trying to make a point

How many times have you almost crapped your pants playing a video game, where there is also no pain?
Laser tag is fun, because anyone can play, whether or not they like pain. Just find a good indoor arena that is cheap and you're set. The place I go to has a screen outside of the arena that shows real-time scores, too. If only it could show where the players are, that would be awesome. And you can get kicked out of the place I go to if you cover your sensors, and you need both hands on the gun to fire, making it even harder to cheat.

And, yes, the ones you buy at wal-mart are crap.
