I LOVE school supplies!!!!!! (TI-84 plus)

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

I just got a TI-84 plus graphing calculator! Yay! I'd like to load on some game apps....can you guys recommend any good ones and post links? I'd also like to know how the hell to get apps onto your calculator and open them, as I have no clue!

Thanks,
CTFan

EDIT: I was thinking mainly of Mario, (is it Mario Bros. or SMB?) Tetris, Pac-Man, and Space Invaders. Which of these are available?

I think it's got a USB or serial connection or something.

Once you have a ti-calc, it's becomes painfully obvious how to upload the programs. As suggested earlier, search www.ticalc.org for programs. Go ahead and skip the ti-BASIC files, since I'm sure you'll be bored with them real quick. Aim for ASM and applications. Get mirage OS to make running items a whole lot smoother. Don't dismiss programs just because they aren't games. There's more to the ti calculators than just games. Have fun, because in two years, you won't care about it anymore. :-P

Heh, thanks Luc. Yeah, in 2 years I'll upgrade to a TI-89 plus SE! (Just kidding). But yeah, thanks for all the help guys. I never thought of a Zelda game; I guess I thought it wouldn't have enough RAM.

Get MirageOS, you need it for all the good games, like pheonix, mario, and wolfenstien83 (really fun, in full 3D!)

Also look at calcgames.org, and it's ticalc.org, not ti-calc.org

edit: ps there's no such thing as a TI89+ SE, the closest you can get is a TI89 Titanium

Guess this would be the best place to ask. How the hell do I connect my TI-83+ or TI-86 to my computer? At the moment all I have is that phono-like cable that came with my 83.

Use a serial cable. (Or get/make one if you don't have it)

TI83+SE comes with usb-I/O port plug (It's called I/O in the TI-84 series)
TI-84 has built in usb port (a or mini b, i forget)
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.

I thought the TI-83+SE only had an I/O port, and that the usb came out on the 84?
