Nope, custom platic box made out of plexiglass as a base, then filler'd the screen controls and jacks to the box.

gotta say nice job but the bondo is lookin a little bit rough. (cant say mine wasnt though) id really reccomend trying some spot putty from a tube thats what i just started using and it really makes the whole bondo thing easier and less noticeable

Ya, that's what I'm going to try to find for my next portable, I really hate bondo now.

yeah you used the nice big can and hardener right?
if you can get your hands on some marine putty bondo and spot putty its really easy. i couldnt find any around DE so i had to order from this place

Thanks for the luck and tips. I actually had some wood filler, which is bondo in a sense, so I've never actually used bondo except in wood shop. So I'll give marine putty a try, thanks.
