Superpad

Post by jellywerker »

I got a superpad today, and took it apart, I rewired the joystick with the one from my madcatz xbox controller, and ... IT WORKED, now I need to figure out what wires go where, as it is right now, left goes left, right goes right, up goes down, and down goes up, so that is my problem, I will post when I figure out what wire goes where. I noticed a lot of people don't like the superpads because after a while your character continuies walking even when your not using the joystick, I figured it out, the n64 controller has a dampener to it doesn't detect extremely slight movements, while the superpad does not, so even almost nonexistant joystick movement is noticed. also, the joypad doesn't have a nice big black chip like the n64 controller, it has a chip under a pennyy-sized piece of protective glue in the center of the pcb, I will post with more info later, bye.

I figured out the wires, but I fried my n64 in the process, any ideas for fixing it, I think I short circuited ot, I looked over the whole mobo, and I can't find anything burn't or otherwise disffigured, so perhaps static electricity? it only takes 1/8 what the human body can feel to mess up computer components.

Official News: Project on hold.

Edit, if anyone wants to know what wires to hook where, pm me.

right by the cart slot there are the two mem chips, they have a lot of pins on one side and 4 on the other, the four came undone. check to see if they came off, and if it did, hold the four down while you heat them w/ the soldering iron. the soulder should melt back to the boards hope this helps!

I was just thinking of this holding the analoge stickes from my Hip Gear controller. I'm wondering if I should use one of the analoge sticks as a replacement form my N64 controller. I also noticed the thing has a button, I was also thinking of using the whole thing. The stick and the button as the "Z" for the system How's that sound? Otherwise I just keep the controller, and I already have 3 PSOne and 2 PS2.

I would say don't use it, or make it a start button, it is too easy to press when you don't want to, and to hard to press when you want to for a z button (you NEED good z button skills for zelda, z targetting!)
