Airsoft gun recommendations?

Post by bioniclebert »

Hey d00ds:
I'm looking to get a nice airsoft gun soon, and I'm tied up between 2 choices.
More powerful, but unknown mag. capabilities, or upgradeableness.

OR

The less powerful one actually around 285 fps, but upgradeable by TOKYO marui parts.

Im looking to get an airsoft gun soon from selling my NESP as soon as the screen arrives.
But the second gun is upgradeable to be better than the first! Why bother getting the better packaged gun?

Well, the more powerful of the two, the first one listed, is available locally to me, and as of right now, I dont feel too comfortable opening up a brand new airsoft gun to modify it. (but NES' I will do  )

so I list good vs bad:

WELL R6 (gun 2) GOOD:
-Upgradeable to become very powerful
-can take tokyo mauri clips, no searching around necessary
-cheaper

WELL r6 (gun 2) BAD:
-Must order on the Net
-Dont like to modify guns as expensive and new as that one
-actually shoots around 285 fps, not 330. (even says this on WELL's website.)

FIREPOWER F4 (gun 1) GOOD:
-Locally available (even played around with it in the store)
-Out of the box, more powerful than the other
-Holds just as many bb's

FIREPOWER F4 (gun 1) BAD:
-slightly more expensive (not too bad, as long as I get a decent bit for NES)
-Magazine type is unknown, as of right now (250 in one mag. aint bad, but I'd like to know where to get another one.)
-Unknown if upgradeable

It's going to be one of those two guns, not any others.(Whoops! Check my next post!) So which one would be better?

Paintball is great, but it costs too much for me to play everytime, plus my gun died.

Found another gun to throw into the mix.
Most expensive yet, but also the best. 300-350 fps AND upgradeable by marui.

well waht is your intended use for these airsoft guns? casue for 180 you can get a real nice used drozd, stock form they shoot 400-600fps 600 round per minute 6 round burst with a 30 round clip (one of the members of the bbboy drozd forum has a portotype 300 eound bulk mag built and might mass produce it but it will cost as much as the gun mebe more :(

well to just shoot around a m4 lookin gun, no professional airsoft or league, just backyard type stuff. I got a 200 FPS AK47 and it's far too weak. My brothers 350 FPS shotgun hurts and leaves a mark, mine dosent. I want to start bein able to make marks on him when I hit em'.
Oh, I meant, If I was shootin around at targets or cans or somethin, and I happened to miss and hit him, I'd think it better to leave a mark then to not hurt at all. :)
(Ok somethings bad. I hope nobody checked my profile. somebody evil is afoot. I seriously DID NOT post that link! I am changing my account password now.)

personally i wouldnt buy anything less than a Tokyo Marui gun, ive got three now, but ive had 10 in my time. i get a bit bored of some guns and i always want new ones so i sell a lot of them on in order to get new ones.

definatly get the upgradable gun. even if its lower power, when you get it youl be happy with it. and then in a couple of months when you have some spare dollar youl be able to make it much meatier with some upgrades.

ive got an ak47 that i had for about a year before i had enough spare money to get full wood stocks for it. its one of the best replicas ive ever seen.

I would go for a Classic Army Full Metal one from ShortyUSA.

ive had a couple of classic army guns as well. they come in full metal as standard which is nice, but ive found the quality varies a lot. ive seen some good ones and some real soddy and unreliable peices.

ive got an mp5 a2 thats always been rock solid, but ive scince replaced many of the parts with Marui upgrades. its now one of my favourite guns.

ive also had an m16 and m4 both of which were of the bad quality variety. bad finish, rubbish battries, and shoddy production. the gearbox was all over the place. i could have put in new parts and it would be fine, but i shouldnt have to.

i think they may have changed the design scince, but classic army mags used to have a problem with breaking easily. i dont know about that one as i have always used Marui mags in my classic army guns. but take it into considderation.

Hobby Tron isn't exactally the best place to buy this kind of thing... I suggest www.AirSpalt.com they have great service, and you can TRUST what they say the gun can actually do!!! Hobby Torn on the other hand, is a bit shady with there claims of how good the product is...

well when I showed hobbytron, that was an example. The WELL R6 Is on airsplat as well, and the FIREPOWER one is just for a picture. The Ratings around the same as their manufacturers website.

Keep in mind I have a very low budget for backyard games. It all depends on the NESP anyway. My limit right now is under 200$ as I dont think people will pay that much for a NES portable (except ben quality, so I tried to make it look a bit decent)
I'm still waiting on the screen to arrive, and I will post it up when It's done.

As far as guns go, I'm going to go with the AIM M4 for the moment, as It's about the best one I can find for the price. It's marui upgradeable, and without it shoots around 330 fps from the box. I've heard some tests putting it higher, but I think they're not using .2g bb's. And since its marui acceptable, I can also get marui hi-cap mags to go with it, though those are around 40$! (Airsplat has em at 30$)
SO all together it's 195$ for the gun and extra clip. I think thats going to be it. Just need to wait and see If I can get enough for it.
