Paper machet?

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Sorry to bump an old topic, but it could work if you make a mould of paper mache, paint it with a color, make button holes, and then put some layers (6) of bottled school glue on it. That way it would be water proof, and stronger. But it would take a day for each layer of glue to dry.

That probably wouldn't be strong enough; plus, the insertion force of a cartridge (if you are indeed playing cartridge games) would be far too strong to hold. Paper machet, although creative, is just not practical. If you want a case on the cheap, buy a project box or do a case/frankenmod. Hope this helped.

I could work better using paper mache as an alternative to plastic, but still have an insternal wooden frame to support the paper mache.

Maybe if everything internally was attached to the framework and the paper mache was a cosmetic shell it might work. Still, it might add too much bulk and/or weight. The R/C plane guys use thin fiberglass cloth and
minwax water based urethane to cover wings - fairly thin, light, and tough.
That might make your shell strong enough but it is another layer of weight.
Just my 2 pennies worth...
