Intec XBOX 8270 Backlight LED MOD

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

All I found was more full units, mostly new
If I had a part number for the LCD, inverter and backlight I'd be able to find one

but the guy @ Intec says they don't have that info

bummer

I REALLY would like to do this, it seems to be the best alternative
and I can have some fun with it in the process
I've been slowly but surely modding the xbox so why not mod the screen

Only problem is, I'm not sure where to start or how to wire it in yet
I'v been testing circuits for voltages and such but I should just be able to wire them right in

no need for an inverter right?

just grab a bunch of high intensity leds and wire them in parallel
then apply some voltage thru a resistor or two and I should be done

If anyone has any ideas, let me know

Any suggestions on LEDs to use?

I'm figuring about 4-6 10,000MCD 3mm LEDs would do the trick

I recommend first finding a spot on the board with a multimeter that gives an ample source of 5 V. (At least 3-5 V.) Then wire up the LED's with a resistor...let me try to make a diagram.

There, and the orange block being the resistor, squares with 'leads' being the LED's...sorry for crudeness, but on short notice, that's all I have with Microsuck.

Thanks, I believe I found a 3V and 14V so far, I'll try using the 3V
I'm ordering a bunch of LEDs from some dude on eBAY from Hong Kong
I don't wanna spend $5 a peice from radioshack

I just have to figure out how many I need to light it up evenly and do the math with the resistors

The problem is, the backlight is like an S shape
