Ok, so i tried to relocate the pak by taking the metal heatsink off of it as well as the port cover on the N64 Mobo. This exposed the gold pins, which i unsuccessfully tried to solder to the corresponding points on the expansion pak PCB. The issue I have is that i cannot have the exp. pak plugged into the port as the normal N64 config would have it because that takes up way to much space.
What other options do i have here? I already fudged up one expansion pak, so i am off to EB to buy another.

Well, I've run into this problem as well, and even though I only use a jumper pack, the combination of it's pcb and the huge metal... thing... is way too thick. Anyone got a solution?
I have thought this over and since my soldering skills are not ideal...
Why not take the one off the fried n64
then take the old jumper pack and remove the card edge
solder the card edge directly to he removed port, cut off the excess
after that connect them by merely pressing the card in
then plug in a better jumper pack in the suspended cart port...
at least that is what I have thought of...

I am trying to solder wires from the gold pins to the contacts on the pcb of the expansion pak. Making the connections without shorting the contacts with solder is extremely difficult (I am using a cheap craftsman soldering iron). I cannot have the pak standing straight up as it is supposed to because it uses up to much space, plus i have already ripped the jumper pak port off of the mobo.

Check sig.Anywhos, all you really need is a good soldering iron. May I suggest a 12W Weller?
If you can't get a better iron, just use as little solder as possible. Also, remove the expansion slot, for easier access to the pins:
And use reeeaaaalllly thin IDE wire. Here's mine, from Gigabyte:
