N64 portable progress thread. PICS.

Post by myname2 »

Well, My as of yet unnamed portable is comign to life. Ive been working for about a week or 2 now, and I have completed the dc-dc 3.3v regulator (put it on a bit of breadboard) and also had my friend put together a setup for an adjustable regulator to give out 8v ( I couldnt find a 7808.) for a PSone screen.

I rewired each button on the controller, extended the wires on the joystick, and added a new Dpad with tact switches.

Today, I spent about 3-4 hours working on the case, which is the shell of a SNES that I have gutted.

Picture time! :-D

EDIT! The N64 board in the back is one I fried a lonnnng time ago trying to overclock. Im just using it to tell how everything will fit. the n64 I will use is still intact at the moment.

Hehe, thanks.

Actually, I was originally gonna do a SNES portable, but during the cart slot relocation I think I fried it, cuz afterwards it wouldnt work. I never really looked into it.

But yea, Gonna use the shell now :-D

Ok, so I LED modded my screen today (That arrived yesterday, THANKYOU machina28!!!) And cut the hole in the case for it.

I wired it to the n64, and the power. It all worked!! Im just about done, just waiting on my cart slot relocation stuffs ( headers, etc. ) to come.
