Finally!!

Post by chris_g_navy »

After waiting about a week on the mail(and playing guild wars), my headers arrived today, so now I can go about re-wiring the cart slot.

Go Here http://unicornelectronics.com/Connectors/cohp10.html

You will see them about halfway down. It took me about a week to get them when i ordered them. I got 10 in case i broke some of them, or maybe i would use them later. Hope it helps

wait... you mean instead of rewiring the cart slots you just need 2 carts and you'll have a rewired cart slot :?: :D :?:

Nah, what you do is take a ribbon cable, anything with 50 or more pins, and connect the female end to the bottom of the cart slot controller(the thing the cartridge plugs into on the motherboard) then you take the dual headers, and plug them into the motherboard where the cartridge controller went(You will see the pins on the mobo) then connect the other end of the cable to them. I'll post pics later.

**Update** Srry for the double post, but upon arrival, I started working on moving my cart slot, the i ran into a problem, the right angle headers i ordered had 1 side shorter than the other. Now it wont plug all the way into the SCSI cable, or if i flip it, wont plug all the way into the mobo. This is quite the prediciment, so im going to take a break until i get this one fixed.

i used straight pcb pins the only problemi have atm the moment is a way to kepp a good contact with the n64

i thinking of either bendin them or coating them in solder

the scsi cable is so thin i cart slot is located just under the ext slot using those big holes to attach it firmly
