Quick! How do I get RGB?

Seeing as how this isn't a pocket tv, I didn't put it in that section. Anyway, I need to know how to get RGB on a small RCA tv (13", model #E13320). I looked on the circuitboard for "R", "G" and "B", and I tried to follow the composite signal input (although I gave up after I found its 12th "split"), so what should I do? I have it all apart I can't really move it right now, so I'd like to get help pretty fast. Thanks.

First question, is the tv fully discharged? Other than that, I can only say that you should trace from the composite input(if there is any) and try and see if it enters any chips other than amp chips.

First: Damn, be careful. I hope you know what you're doing. Even small CRTs can have kilovolt caps, and they can 'soak' back to a dangerous voltage after you discharge them.

Do CRTs necessarily use RGB?

Start looking up data sheets for the chips on the circuit board.

Considering the fact that they use an rgb gun for drawing the monitor, I assume so

I'm pretty sure that all/most crt's do use rgb. I am trying to be careful because it's not discharged, and I found out how to get S-video from one of the chips. I also found that the chip has composite in, so maybe I'll have a clue as to where to find rgb from there. Keep the suggestions coming, and I'll try to keep everyone informed.

Have you tried to look for the datasheet of the chip that has the composite in?

Yeah, but the datasheet is in .pdf format and my os 9 imac can't read it, but I'll just wait and use the school pc's when it opens again. Anyway, I put the tv back together (with wires sticking out to hopefully allow S-video, which I'll test later), and I've noticed some lines on the screen. When on a bright backround, dark pixels can sorta cause a loss of brightness on whatever horizontal row (thick rows, not just single pixel rows) the event occurs in, but it's slight, so I'll probably check later, if never.

Thanks. I'll have to check to see which chip is used on the tv. I noticed that of the two jpeg's, only one took in rgb, while the other had rgb out. Is there any reason/significance to this?

I saw that, too. I just took the 2 chips that were in the PDF, and hoped you had the chip with RGB in. Check and compare the chip numbers
