Well, this isn't a community thread, so anyway yes i ordered those Ultra Bright LED's from hongkong, but i have 2- 3mm leds in my screen so i can play on my PS1. :D Plus tomorrow im hittin up the Depot and gettin some more METAL bondo or plastic epoxy weld and some Krylon Plastic Fusion paint. QUESTION: What color or colors would be awesome on this PS2M? I was thinking Gold, Black, and some Blue. :o

Gold spraypaint always looks tacky. Go black. Always good. Always emo.

I can't wait to see someone else rise into the ps2 hall of fame. What would this be, the third?

Yes i would be the third, but for some reason as i JUST got done slimming the board i hook everything up and my dvd drive is tying to read the disc, but the motor wasnt as smooth as before. It wont read the disc and the tray wont eject. As i try to pick up the unit, the blue light on the bottom goes out and i look at the screen and i see nothing.  The board crapped out on me agian!! I think i will order a BRAND NEW KHS-400C laser unit and motherboard. Lets just hope i fix the board!!!! :? I dont know if i can fix it, but this is the same thing that happened to the one before that didnt overheat.

EDIT:

Come to find out that on the new board, it has in red marker GOOD 400R OPEN FACE. WOW that was a $40 mistake, and i just so happen to have a 400C laser. That explains it, and to make things complicated i looked on ebay to see which mobo uses 400C and its a GH-019, i just got done frying a GH-015 which is crazy because ive been using that model board the whole time. DAMN!!!

Sorry for you, real badly. I hope you get a good mobo soon. But sometimes, mobos are not fried when you think so. For instance, the yobo I just got didn't work, and I opened it up and saw a short with a tiny, tiny little solder string shorting something out, and I poked it, and it removed the short, and it works now! so look for any production mistakes or anything such. there could be something simple wrong with it.

I ordered a NEW mobo and requested that it work flawlessly with the 400C laser. Now that that is taken care of i guess Home Depot is the next spot for paint and dremel supplies. Seems i have broken all the cutting discs and cant find the disc holder. Alas, a day of hope turns itself into a day of despair. I also plan to cut the PS2 letters on the case an turn them so that when you have it towards you, you can read 'em. 8)
Some epoxy and bondo and i will be on my way :D

Here's the pic of my landscaped ps2 label. I just got some black textured metallic spray paint and it looks good on my testical piece of plastic. :D I may or may not go with the gold, but I will have to "cake" it outside today in the arid Georgia sun. :o Does anyone think a 2 tone Gold and Black would look good or just have it painted with that textured metallic black?? :?

Good News: I'm getting done with the cases this week
Bad News: I'm going on vacation sooner than planned, and I will have to get as much done as I can on it before Wednesday. :?

I'm stickin with the black, seein as how everyone likes it- and it looks SWEET!!! It has that metallic look that you can feel!!! :D :D I'm done with the bottom of the case and later on I'll cut the slots for the USB and Power switches and paint the top of the case. Once the case is done my confidence level will go up considerably cause I've had SOOOO many set-backs and I AM going to finish this beast!!!

UPDATE:

Top pic is the ps2m label switched so it looks tight, and bottom is the left side of the console that will have the power switches and USB ports. Right now i have the USB and Battery switches cut. :)

90% DONE with the console case. :D
80% DONE with the screen case. :D

I'm just about done with the cases- that's all i've been talkin' about. I have plenty of time before i get the guts of everything. I think i will wait until i get the battery to see if it charges thru the same way it outputs, but im pretty sure it has a seperate plug to charge. If so, i'm going to dremel one LAST hole in the case and hook it up. Here's the beauty.

MY 100th POST!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Well, after agruing with myself over if i should keep the paint or not, i've decided to REMOVE the textured black metallic and get some primer and Krylon Fusion black. :? :!: I started to notice that after you touch it, it's still tacky, that's 6 hours of drying!! Anyway, im going to my grandparents place where i know there's a HUGE jug of acetone to remove the paint. I'm not worried about it because the wait is worth it.

I also just realized that not only would this be the 3rd PS2 portable EVER, this will be the 1st original [big] PS2 portable!!!!  :o :o :o
