OK first off...sorry about all the posting....
Well, i fixed the dc regulator problem, i bought one of those variable dc adapters for the car for about 10 bucks...tested it with meter runs from 9.6v down to 3.2!!! so i hook everything up and measured across...3.2v!!!
Now:
1. The screen comes on
2. The red LED on front of the N64 comes on
3. No excessive heat or burning smell (yay)
4. No display, not even when i hook it back up to a regular TV
So...i think i might have fried my board...if so..now i have to wait till tomorrow to get a new one.
Have any of you guys heard of this problem before...i really hope its not fried, and that im doing something stupid...

I agree with Gamey there. Either the DC/DC is getting too hot and shutting itself off, or it cannot supply enough amperage for the N64. It should be able to supply at least 1300mah, but I recomend 1800mah (only because I read that somewhere). If the DC/DC is made up of any chips, try heatsinking 'em.
Also, recharge the battery pack and let us know. It could of been the whole problem after all.

I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...
