What kind of gameboy are you using? How much faster is it? Are you actively working on it, or is it rotting in a box in your closet?Skyone wrote:Overclocked it my self, well... more like overspeeding. It's still in beta, so I can only play for ~45 minutes before the screen starts farting out. I need a smaller crystal. And yes, my pokemon were all level 100.
Anybody play Pokemon ?

Um, it started on a Gameboy Pocket, but due to my clumsiness and not enough room, I switched to GBO, but's it's the same mod for every gameboy. I'm actively working on it, in fact, I'm talking to the dude at Epicgaming.us about it now. He says the crystal's ripple has to be fairly low, so I'm off to digikey.vskid wrote:What kind of gameboy are you using? How much faster is it? Currently the crystal is upgraded to 5MHz from 4.194MHz, fairly faster.

There's my progress, and a video displaying it's speed. The video is 18MB, so make sure you don't have 56k.
Do you want me to make a tutorial?
Haha, nah. I played Pokémon before I new what a volt was. 300 hours was around 6-7 years ago. And even if I was overclocking, the whole time, I would have 350 hours.sgtpepper wrote:So that's how you got 300 hours?Skyone wrote:Overclocked it my self, well... more like overspeeding. Because you are only doing GBC, here is a link to a tutorial:

Unfortunate for you, GBO's are the easiest to overclock!

Great, now I have to borrow the GBC AND get a 10 mhz crystal. Could I wire two slower crystals together to get more speed? If so, I could just use the crystal off my dead on and the one off my bro's.Skyone wrote:Because you are only doing GBC, here is a link to a tutorial:

That's exactly what I'm using, so yes, it works. Look on digikey though.vskid wrote:Would something like this work? And does radioshack have them?
And nope, they have 'em nowhere, not Ratshack, or Fry's.
I guess I'll go on a killing spree (taking apart all of my stuff to find a crystal) and see if I can find one.Skyone wrote:That's exactly what I'm using, so yes, it works. Look on digikey though.vskid wrote:Would something like this work? And does radioshack have them?
