NES stopped working

Post by csurban »

Ok... i got the NES to work without the RF Box and on batteries. I then took of the expansion slot and it stopped working. when taking it off, some wires going to the pins of the expansion slot on the motherboard starting pealing off the motherboard. I cut those since it says in bens book nothing about rewiring the contacts. any ideas what might be wrong?
nope... can't think of anything I could possibly want to put in my Signature Block...

you might have scratched a trace or fried the board with the desoldering iron. But what do I know?

is there any way to test to see if the board was fried? Any way i can connect it to the tv after it has been gutted?

A continuity tester can see if the board is fried, and yes, you can, just wire it to phono plugs from radio shack.

I have an nes I killed too. One of the mobo's +5v lines got shorted to ground while I was working on it, and now nothing shows up on a tv, But the power light still comes on. Any suggestions?
