2nd question...

I have built the controllers from scratch and was wondering about the with the AB and start/selct buttons..

The Key at the bottom of the picture says there is a B)Ribbon Cable 2, yet there is no B on the picture. Also, on Ben Heck's book, there is an actual photo of the completed board and there are some wires that are left of the IC chip that are without labels... any help would be awesome, been reading over and over for a while now and am ready to finish this up..

Alright, finally done, however it will not turn on unless the switch is bridged with my multimeter in Amp mode....

if i jump the switch testing for current the screen lights up fine... if i have it in Volts, then it does not work that way. there is power at the switch, but not sure what is going on after...

thanks for the help,

well i managed to get the switch fixed....

however, there is no video from NES, in Ben's book, he speaks of the bottom two wires that connect to the PSone screen as blue in different places, is this a typo? The plugs for mine are red on the left side and blue on the right ( as seen from the rear)

thanks, chris

ok, update...

i got the screen to blink the differnet color grays.... the game was workiong before i took the NES apart, and I cleaned it out, but before i take to going to walmart to find something to really get in there, i was wondering of yall think that might be the only problem left. Sorry for so many posts, but i am doing this as a project and i need to turn it in soon.

thanks again, chris
PS, i am getting 1.7v out to the video onto the NES mobo....

I was wondering if y'all could think of any reasons for the screen to be blinking different color greys before I proceed to clean it again.

I also want to know if the 1.7v to the NES mobo is enough voltage from the video signal.

Um, I don't know what you're thinking of using to "really get in there," but alcohol prep swabs work great for cleaning contacts. A good eraser should help too, but if all that fails, you're going to want a new pin connector. Also, watch your prepositions, 'cause most of the time I'm not sure what you're talking about. Best of luck!

I went ahead and purchased a new pin set. Going to try to get them to overnight. Thanks
