Post by jeroen »

I'm so happy. What you don't know what a copynes is? Here http://www.tripoint.org/kevtris/Project ... index.html

Edit: Update today I finnaly got a solder sucker and got along pretty well. Almost finished. Only my iron tip sucks! So tommorow. (It's already evening here) i'm gonna get my a 5 euro iron and finish this sucker. Gannon I know you got one. How is it?

Edit2: I have an idea. Maybe someone is willing to donate me a desoldering iron. Or show me a store that sells them and ships to Europe.

Wow, thats a nice catch!

Hardware NSF-Player and all..

Do I sense something ileggal here?
NOTE: CopyNES does *NOT* allow you to "play back" games. It is more of a tool to dump carts, reverse engineer carts not emulated/dumped, and things like that. With a RAM cart it can be used to run some things like homebrew code and such.
So homebrew code doesn't translate to homebrew ROM's? ;)

Again, great catch!

I got mine back in Nov., Pretty nice. I still need to build a RAM cart and a NSF cart though, although I might just wait for the Squeedo
Also, (not sure if you have or not yet), you might want to stop by the nesdev forums. http://nesdev.parodius.com/bbs

It can dump nes games to roms and read/write to the sram of carts. It can also be used to write roms to RAM carts (or flash) with the right plugins. It can also monitor the output of the cpu and inject strings into it while running so it makes for a fairly nice addition for any nes dev'er.

My first desoldering pump sucked:

Now, a desoldering iron on the other hand, is much nicer:

With the later I was able to desolder the cpu in a few minutes (if not less :P)

Anyways, I still haven't had enough time to properly setup the copynes in a custom case or have fun messing with it. I think one of the first things I'll do is try to monitor the cart output on my midines to see if I can grab the data and make NSFs out of it.

So, if I'm not mistaken, this is a device that will allow you to load or make NES roms?

Aaaaaaaaaaaah! got nes board trouble today. Nes is ruined. Short for I have to get a new one  . And gannon I was lucky to get the solder sucker. We certaintly don't have that desoldering iron model you got. (I hate having no radioshack :( )
