Oh, by the way, I do know what I'm doing. I am informed, I'm simply asking for the schematics for the N64 and maybe some pictures.
Also, you would never need 14 9V batteries to run the N64. That's rediculous, one 9V batery would suit the 3.3V @ 2.7A with the TI PT78HT233. The 12V @ .8A could be covered by the other Ti product I have. So 2 to 3 9V or multiple AA bateries, whatever is easier.
Oh, and Marshalh (Creator of L64), Please give the plastic product you purchased. You got my attention with your turnout on the L64. I know you used styrene, but what kind? Also, what did you heat it with and how?
I will do this, I do have a shopvac! What Vac did you use?

Excuse me? A typical Ni-MH 9v battery only contains 150mAH of current. I may be wrong, but I think that most people here would agree with me. So 14 9v batteries in parellel is 2000mAH, which is plenty of current for the N64. Also, if a 9v battery contained enough current you'd be able to use it directly on the 12v line with no regulation. The 12v line can go down to 7.2v and even lower.
*EDIT*
Radio Shack also carries Ni-CD 9v batteries which contain only 120mAH

I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

mAH is how long the batteries draw not the amperage of the battery. Batteries dont have a "current", the current is what you draw from the battery iteslf. If I really wanted to use the system for more than 2 hours at a time, I can use a 3.6V 1400mAH cell phone battery.
Marshalh, please answer the question 4 posts befor this.

man, dont be so full of yourself...or you're going to be embarrassed by people who actually know what they're talking about on these forums. The highest rechargable 9v battery I've ever seen is 170mAh, so let's go with that for now. If you use 3 9v batteries in parallel at 170mAh you'd have a total of 510mAh...follow me so far? There was a thread recently about the average current draw of the N64 being about 1A. With a perfect battery and converter you'd get, let's see...0.51hours ~ 31 minutes of play time. Factor in the discharge curve of the battery and the non-perfect effeciency of the converter and you're down to about 20-25 minutes.
If you wanted an hour of play time, you'd need about 7. If you wanted two hours of play time...you guessed it, you'd need about 14
Oh, and I only included the 3.3v line in this example. You don't need to keep the 12v line at 12v, it will work directly off 9v if you wanted.
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.

You can go off the basic idea that 1 amp or 1000 mAh equals one hour of play time for the N64 because the N64 draws about 1 amp of power... give or take a half an hour
BTW... after you really understand how electicity works, I suggest some good 1800 mAh AA rechargeable batteries if $$$ is tight or better yet would be one of those extended battery packs for DVD players. These can get expensive but some get have up to 5 amps of power!

You are obviously a complete idiot. When you have no idea what you are talking about or whats going on, please do not respond to posts. The whole point of these posts are to ask a simple favor, "Schematics and maybe a few pictures" WOW, really difficult!!
Then later, "Please give the plastic product you (Marshall) purchased. You (Marshall)got my attention with your turnout on the L64. I know you used styrene, but what kind? Also, what did you heat it with and how?
I will do this, I do have a shopvac! What Vac did you use?" This is all of course to Marshall, the creator of the L64.
Simply put, when you no not what you speak, do not speak.

To everyone else, sorry for the following post...but this guy is pretty entertaining and I can't resist making a response...
How old are you? I'm just curious as to whether I should be in adult or pre-teen mindset when responding to your posts.
First of all, as CTFan said, check the sticky...most of your questions are answered there. Secondly, to find out about vacuum forming, use Google, thats G-O-O-G-L-E-.-c-o-m, all caps not needed.
My previous post was in defense of iam7805, who has been around a lot longer than you and has gained my respect for not being completely full of himself though he knows about electronics. And as for me being an idiot, I probably am...but certainly not compared to you. I presented a step by step derivation of the conclusion that others have tried to tell you. Using 9v batteries is not a good choice if you want an overall small case size combined with long run time.
And mods, I'm sure this will be locked soon, but please let him respond at least once more, for the entertainment value if nothing else....thanks
