Well, it's not that we don't appreciate the effort, but we already have a few established websites full of information. You said PoD is unorganized, but well so is having information scattered over a ton of websites, you know?

It's sort of like when we had the trend where everyone set up their own forums. Nobody used them but rather they stuck with the originals.

There's just no sense in spreading out the information and the community, you know?

:P Haha, thanks.

But, I'm not saying he shouldn't keep building his site, if he can prove to me that he has more information then POD does, then I'll visit his site.

Right now, his site has less than mine. With time though, it could become great. Everyone that has info, how-tos, ect.,should send them to him to put up. My site will just have info on portables I've built(so far, zero) and some general stuff.
@khaag-If you think PoD is unorganised, you could transfer stuff from there to your site, just check with those that wrote the stuff thats there first.

Yep he spent a whole 3 seconds getting some template and shoving some text on it. Hell I think its eve na freewebs template anyway. BAsically a two click job. Its a freewebs account. If he ever got a decent amount of information or traffic it would be too much and they would shut it down. He should of used 100webspace or something.

Finally! Some positive feedback. And to quote Skyone:

Thats what I am going for. A site that has a ton of info and is well organized.

Anyways, for those who do like it, thanks... and for those who dont... my goal is to win you over! I mean... it can only get better from here on right?

Regards,
Kevin

it's a nice site but if you're gonna have a big info database it should be on a high-bandwidth host like POD and benwiki have, not a low-bandwidth freewebs account. and since everybody can add stuff to benwiki.tk, there's no need to make your own portablizing info site

If you do intend to continue making it please move it off of freewebs. if you cannot run it without the freewebs editor either give up now or learn some basic HTML or get a editor.

Also you say t esite costs a lot to run. It doesn't. Its free. See in the URL 'freewebs.com'. Do you understand that?

I think it's a good idea. We have such a tight-knit community here; we could help this site evolve into more of an "every-man's" site. We could bestow upon it our vast, illustrious knowledge and those who aren't in the community can use it to their advantage. Don't get me wrong; POD can do exactly the same thing, but it's always nice to post a couple new how-to's on a new site so to lure in everyday websurfers. I'm sure there are portablizers and/or people considering portablization who could use a site like this as a resource, and who have not yet discovered POD and the benheck.com forums. So I say, "Keep up the good work, man!" I'll put some stuff on the site as soon as I get a chance.

5. Benheck is neither a blog nor a billboard. It's one thing to make a thread about it being your birthday, but threads like "I found a quarter on the sidewalk!", "My little sibling ate a Lego!" or "Hey guys gess what my cat yaked up!" are completely unnecessary. Also, the benheck.com forums are not a place to advertize your website or forum or blog or whatever, at least not in posts. If you want to advertize your website, forum, etc..., put an ad in your sig. DO NOT make a thread just to advertize!
Truthfully, your site may be helpful to the community, but put it in your signature! That's all I have done, and it seems like some people have visited my site only through my sig. I notice you have it in your signature, but advertizing in the thread is against the rules...

I'll be serious, I'm not going to visit your site again. Not because it's bad. Not even because it's a pre-made template I've seen 1000 times before created on freewebs, but because we already have a huge source of information at benheck.com, portablesofdoom.org, and maybe even benwiki.tk.

Considering I rarely even visit POD, which has TONS of information, I wouldn't consistently go to your site, which has nearly no information.

I'm sorry this is harsh, but it's the truth. Unless your site is more than a slight collaberation of information (which has already been done), not many people will visit it.

And to anyone defending... Khaag... Really calm down.
