PSone LCD Fuses?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

PSone LCD Fuses?

Post by spreeway »

Well I think i may have shorted out my psone lsd screen.

I was trying to check continuity of the video connections, and I forgot I had a battery hooked up. Needless to say, there was sparks and now I am not getting anything on the screen.

Are there fuses on the screen that I could check to see if they are blown?

I think there's quite a few? Look for black SMDs with F# silkscreened near them.

Ok, I've looked alll over the board. Could not find any silkscreen components labeled with an F#.

Could they be labeled anything else?

edit: The lcd led turns on for a sec then goes away

On the left there are the fuses. (arrows pointing towards them) Jump 1, should be good to go then. But be careful now, one more mistake and your screen will be blown.

EDIT: Didn't see your edit there, your backlight might be the problem not the actual screen. Lift the LCD screen up abit and shine a torch through the back to see if anything is on the screen when turned on (volume, brightness) if you can then it's definatle the light and you'll need to do the LED mod or fix it. (LED mod better option)
