DIY Triple Neck Bass?!

Yes, it is I, S q u e e !, attempting another project. This time, a triple neck bass (8-string, 5-string, 4-string fretless)! Here's the scoop:

I was searching eBay the other day and found a tripleneck guitar, the thing is, I don't play guitar! So I was thinking, why not make a tripleneck bass? So, here's my idea so far:

Buy three unfinished (in other words cheap) bodies from Warmoth, cut them, and blue the three pieces together (because I am garbage at thinking up my own body designs). Sort of like this:

So, I must ask, which wood glue is the best for holding up against, say, 25 pounds pulling against it?

I do believe that the factories just use normal wood glue (I know for a fact on acoustics they do this, I saw it on the dsicovery channel

)

Keep in mind that you'd need BASS bodies, the necks and such are different widhts and such and would not attach to the body correctly and neatly at all.

Just incase you overlooked that, which I doubt you did, but this statment could save you hundreds of dollars.

Jusdt normal wood glue. It's pretty damn strong stuff. (When used on wood, that is.)

EDIT:

I used Titebond II for gluing as this had been recommended to me by a few people, including "Craft Supplies" who know their stuff!

I google special guitar body glue.

Yes, I did look that over. If you look at the pickup routs in that picture, they are musicman. Those are Fender P-bass body pictures from Warmoth. The middle one is a five-string.

I was thinking about using Gorilla Glue, but felt I should ask others first.

sweet, triple neck base is gonna rock. maybe you should use glue and bolts/screws too make it really sturdy

Well, the P-Bass/Musicman mix actually goes together because Leo Fender did a lot of work for them

. Triple neck looks rad! I'm gonna make me a 4-string using guitar pickups (I like the gritty sound to it) and a custom body out of liquid epoxy resin

! Then I'm gonna spraypaint it...

ha, that will be cool to see! being a guitarist id love to have a solid body les paul with a seymour duncan invader in the bridge position and a standard strat single coil in the neck.

Well, it was originally going to be a 12-string bass instead of an 8-string, but I couldn't find a headstock large enough for 8 guitar tuners and 4 bass tuners.

3 isnt excessive enough, I would make a 4 necker, but thats just me.

Well i'm actaully going to be building my own guitar this summer with my dad and i've done a lot of research. Also my dad own a woodworking business making custom cabnetry(sp?) so i know my way around the work shop. Unless you are use an exotic wood like purple heart of somthing crazy like that, you can use plain old wood glue. just make sure that you have clamps that will hold the pieces tightly together.

Thanks! That'll help me a lot! Does anyone here know of a material that would be good for burst finishing? I read an article on bursting with cans, but it wasn't very thorough.

you should make a 134 neck guitar! nothing is excessive. each neck should have 17 strings! at least!
