has anyone thought of making an NEX into a portable?

The small size makes it look like a perfect candidate. Not to mention that it can be even smaller when you remove the unnecessary stuff like the Famicom slot.

The NEX is just an NOAC -- it's nothing special. It even fails to play Castlevania 3, just like a lot of other NOACs (actually, I have an NOAC that plays CV3 just fine, does that make it superior to the NEX?)
So, basically you're asking if someone has considered spending way more than the alternatively cheap NOACs to get the neat NEX case and then not use it

There's this one NOAC in Japan that is occasionally pretty cheap called the Famikonyarou. The build quality is typical NOAC (not as good as some of the other Japanese ones), but it has some excellent compatibility. I'm gonna look into getting a couple more for portabilizing.
I think CV3 depends on which NOAC ASIC was used. My suspicion is that Super Joy internals aren't made by the company that markets them (according to the guys who I bought those barebones NOACs from, a lot of the Chinese manufacturers sell that way), so they might've just switched suppliers along the way.
