Who would even think of making a PC Portable?

It isn't even in the slightestly possible :P
But I may be event trying to portablize a laptop, what do you lot think?

Actualy, a portable pc is fairly easy with a micro-itx mobo. Although if I were to make one I'd wait untill the release of the new nano-itx mobo.

I dont think it can be done...

Most of the things done to shrink a handheld to a smaller size are the following:

Remove RF sheilding and sometimes RF circuitry

Change heatsinks

Change the power supply

Since laptops have no RF(or anything that can be removed for that matter), are already running as hot as possible, and already have the power system built in as the most efficient and compact way possible, it isn't really possible. They are as portable as they can be. They're built to be that way.

I have been planning to put a PC into a hard breifcase, though...

no, a micro-itx mobo could make (in theory) a 8*8*...4-5inch comp including batteries and a screen...

while a nano itx mobo is 4"x4" and has a 1 ghz processor :)

nano-itx is 12cm by 12cm = 4.7in by 4.7in :P

dont you love the ol' "12cm to inches" google search? :P (and yes, i do it that way becuase i'm lazy, not becuase i dont know the conversion ratio :P )

Actually, I just used my computers calculator, but I guess google would work too :)
