in this picture http://daguuy.esmartguy.com/pictures/power%20circut.jpg , where the wires split, how do i do that with real wires? or when one wire is going along and another one is shown sprouting off it.
how do i do this?

You can do that by tying 2 or more wires together and soldering them to the point before the line splits. For example, these two connections are both the same. The way he wrote it is much easier, and the correct way to write circuits.
Yes, if you are using a PAL system.

to split the wires like that, you just need them to be connected anywhere. and if you live in england or australia or any other PAL place, you can use the screen. any videogame screen (excluding handhelds) would work if it's the right region. you'll just have to figure out hot to wire it (should be easy)

It doesn't really matter as long as all of the points are connected. That would work, but it is harder to strip a wire in the middle than it is to tie two wires together.Image
