I am embarking on the project of making my very own n64 portable, but i juest need a list of stuff i need to buy(steal from the electronics lab at my school).
so basically, what do i need to make my own n64 portable?

ok an n64 (duh), a controller, a dc-dc adapter, some batteries
, a ps one screen (or some other kind of portable screen), a screwdriver or 50, a few games to test it. The list just goes on and on 
EDIT: I forgot, a multi-metre tester, a soldering iron-preferably a 25w one or over...

you could but it will last about 15 minutes.
you hook the positive and negative of the battery up to the positive and negative inputs of your system/screen... depending on your battery voltage you may or may not need various regulators... you will for sure need one on the 3.3v line. look around the n64 forum. theres lots of pictures posted about how to wire it up.

okay, so im really gonna be making this, soon i shall have all of the parts, i dont want the thing to look lame, so i have been reading how to rewire the cart slot, and nobody has given a nice guide with diagrams, does anyone know of a simple guide(not like 1billion contradictions) for re-locating the cartridge slot?
i havn't made that part of my guide yet so here's a little tutorial:
1. pull off cart slot
2. pull off EXT slot
3. bend off gold pins
4. put solder on all the outer pins on whatever side you're gonna solder to
5. tin cart slot pins
6. solder wires from the cart slot to the corresponding pins on the outer rows on the mobo. make sure you don't do it backwards or something, people do that sometimes
there's many differnt ways but that's how i did it and it works fine. i'll have a better guide on my site when i get around to making one
