Controller wire colors deciphered.

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Controller wire colors deciphered.

Post by atkafighter »

Hi,
I would appreciate it if someone would help me figure out how to wire an SNES controller directly to the board. I would do it myself, but I can't get the connector open.
Thanks,
Atkafighter

EDIT: Actually I know the order, but I don't know which color corresponds with which function.
I have:
GND
Serial Data
Data Latch
Data Clock
VCC +5v

EDIT: Nevermind I found my old notes from Jeffslot's project. The order for future reference is:
Pin1: Brown
Pin2: N/C
Pin3: N/C
Pin4: Red
Pin5: Orange
Pin6: Yellow
Pin7: White

It also depends on the model! I have used a million of them and certain ones have certain wire colours!(I like to spell it that way :P )

Or you can just look at the thing and figure it out in a physical sense(see where each wire goes physically) like I did.
SNESp - 100%
Protable X - 15% - I need money :(
