If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.
a lot of people here use 4 LEDS and a piece of aluminium foil on the back to reflect the light back towards the screen. You probably don't want to use more than 6, or else you'll probably be using the same amount of power as what the original light used. It's up to you how many you want to use.
Fry it first, ask questions later.
(what usually happens to me)
are there other leds i can use than the reconmended ones or is there a list of the types i can use also can i use those tiny ass light bulbs that radioshack sells to go to those small flashlights
I'm pretty certain that there are about a million threads about this. Keep clicking "next" at the bottom of the page until you get to something that will help you.

well that dosent answer my question about can u use the tiny ass light bulbs for those small flashlights there like 3mm u can get them at radioshack i was wondering if those would work
i just had an idea what if you found a cathode that uses less power but puts out the same brightness as the original or is there a way to lessen the power of one ohh have any of you ever ownd a pelican afterglow not the pro the original controller it has this flexible wire that lights up and it goes around the whole controller i was wondering it that could work for a back light mod depending on its power consumption and it would be a hell of a lot easier but youd have to find one in white they call it an EL wire and u can cut it to size an it will still work i baught one just to f*** with it it took 2 AA but that was a year ago i no longer have it and i dont know how bright it is
I was just sitting down to do this and I realized I forgot to buy the dang LEDs. So I looked in the book and it said I need T1 LED's. Is T1 something special or can I just buy 3 white LEDs (3mm of course)
