I was thinking about putting a gameshark in my portable, built in with access to the gs button and I would relocate that port on the back of it, so I could update. One problen, KEYCODES! In order to play some of the best games of all time, i.e. Ocarina of Time, You need a keycode. And for those who don't know, without the specific keycode activated or deactivated, you won't be able to play other games. So my point is this, I need some way to turn it off, and on but still be able to use the gameshark cartridge to run regular games through the n64. Or more clearly, be able to activate and deactivate the gameshark as I please, and still be able to run games through the same cartridge port. By the way, I own a Gameshark Pro v3.3 for N64, they allow you to cheat using standardized codes, and YOU can make new ones. For codes the best site ishttp://www.cmgsccc.com/ You can find ones pretty cheap on ebay, sometimes you can get them for 5 bucks, pretty cheap! I guess I am not explaining my self very well, so here is what a Gameshark is: You can cheat in ways unimaginable, unlimited life and so on. Anyway, please post.
P.S. For those who have read any of my past posts about this kind of thing, I FIXED MY GAMESHARK!!! Turned out I just had some incorrect "MUST BE ON!" codes for some of the games.

Maybe you could just have an SPDT switch running power between the Gameshark and regular cartridge port.

More clearly:
Solder the connections from the mobo to both the Gameshark and the cartridge port, and just have the SPDT running between the power pins on the two.

Alright, let's see if this clears this up. I want to be able to run games only from the gameshark cartridge slot, but be able to use that to play regular games, and then be able to turn the gameshark on when I needed it. Or more clearly put any game in the cartridge spot of the gameshark, since it is plugged into the main one I would only have access to the gameshark one. I want to be able to use the gameshark port to play games without the gameshark from the same port as the ones I do want to play with it. If there was a way to kill the power source on the gameshark, so as not to use it but still be able to use it as a regular cartridge port, that might work.

dude... dosent the gameshark just have an option to "start game without cheat codes"... you can plug all of youre games into the gameshark, and then choose whether to actually use it or not.

also, there are multiple power lines going to the cartridge, you would at least have to switch the main 12v and 3.3v lines, although there are like 6 pins that carry these voltages.

Yeah, but if you read the origial, post, If I have ocarina of time in there, then I cant play it without another game, but ur right it does.

Just have a kabajillion switches that jump all the pins. or just find a large pin switch... (prolly don't even have them)

hook up two slots, and make a switch that changes the ground on each cart slot.

Skyone, your method is impractical, to many switches, isn't even worth it after that.
And as for you vb_master, I would need to buy a whole nother n64 to do that, which makes that also impractical. Unless Anybody has an extra cartridge port I could use or buy, I doubt it. There doesn't really seem to be any GOOD ways of doing this, so I think I'll just forget it. If I need it, I will just plug it in myself. Case Closed.
