FAMICOM & NES to GBA SP Adaptor

Post by electromaster64 »

Hey I did not know if anyone had seen these Famicom & NES to GBA SP adaptors. For around $60 it sure beats building a portable, I think they could have had the cartridge insert better instead of it hanging all out there like it is. Here are two links to one.

:x :!: it's not so much the portable itself, as it is the work that went into it. -some wise person

I bought one on clearance in Osaka. It's not a bad little device, but for more than $50 it's not worth buying- go with a Game Theory Admiral instead. I got mine for 2980 yen (about $29) which seems about right for what it does. It lets me test Famicom carts readily at flea markets, which is good :) From what I can tell, it's just an NOAC with Gametech's TV tuner (minus the tuner part of it). Controls suck- for example, if you hold the run button in SMB and jump, sometimes he'll just hop a little bit repeatedly. Kinda depressing. Also colors aren't very accurate and change during gameplay. Oh yeah, and since the GBA's vertical resolution is lower than the Famicom's, it blurs the FC output so that all pixels are at least kinda visible on the GBA. It doesn't do too bad... I played Final Fantasy III on a trip last weekend :)

Buy ANYTHING from BuyRite games. I mean, unless you like getting ripped off and never getting anything for your money.

My friend orders from them all the time and he's never had any problems with then, then again, he always orders COD.

For real. Buyrite sucks. I used to get stuff from them occasionally, but recently they've really gotten awful. Well, can't get much anymore because I'm not gonna pay international shipping to Japan for something I can obviously get here, but still :P

MM007: What sort of passthrough do you mean?

They are using a gba program that monitors the controllers and sends a signal to the noac whenever a button is pressed.
