Aww man...

Post by GamingRev »

So I got my ps1 screen today, I plugged it in all seemed to be going good until the screen froze, and I figured the disk was spinning at all! I figured this has do do with 1 of 2 things, or both maybe:

Incorrect battery power: I have a 7.2 volt battery!

Broken PS1: The Exchange sold me a crappy Ps1, The female end of the plug on the ps1 is all messed up, I checked it out further and I concluded that the metal thing on the bottom of it (it being the jack, or female end) wasnt pushed up far enough to give power to the cable and resulting in ps1 failure. I know this because whenever I push down on the end of the cable going into the ps1, the little light below the turn on switch lights up.

Still whenever I push down on the end of the cable, it doesnt deliver the right amount of power because the disk wasnt spinning.

So which sounds better?
PS3 sucks...

OK, this is an old thread, but I think I have the answer.

If the PSOne powers up at all, you have the correct voltage. So maybe the motor that spins the disk is busted. Or maybe the switch that tells the PSOne the lid is down is busted.
I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

I would first check to see if the ps one lid switch was pushed down. The disk will not spin if that switch is not down, but the power led will be on.
