Enough is Enough- PS2 Power Pinout
I'm quite sure you guys out there with the larger PS2's know what im talking about. Im portabalizing my large PS2 for quite a while and im waitng on a regulator so ican play it. Only concern is that i need to KNOW the power connector pinouts for the old PS2. I have already looked back at the topics and found that they just ASKED QUESTIONS, and NO answers.
Does anybody truly know the power pinouts?? It has a rectangular shape and has 4 pins in a row. What is + and what is - ?? looks like this

eastsider, if it looks like a computer molex plug, it probably is. If you're still doubtful, do what G-force says and pull your multimeter out.
I know the PS2 takes 12v and 5v, so it's fairly likely that's what the connector is for, even if it isn't a normal molex.

those aren't the pins, but that's useful anyway
.
and it's really quite easy to tell which one's 12V and which one is ground...whichever one connects to ground anywhere else (should be the copper strip around the ps2).

Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Let this be a lesson that the ground is easy to find via its nature of position!
1) Possibly runs on outside edge of board.
2) Usually goes to other objects that it grounds to, to discharge to it.(alota to's! sorry)
3) The Power line usually goes to stuff that requires the power.
4) Or you could just generally trace the lines and L.O.G.I.C.A.L.L.Y find out what they are
5) Multimeter?????????(Mines broken or Im too dumb to use it so i feel for those without one

Thanks for all the help you guys have done. I'll easily test them out when i get my new motherboard. I'll be sure to list what they are. Just didn't want to fry anything again -motherboard, cough cough-
. I've decided that i could probably use this AWESOME Li-Ion battery. This baby is 12v @ 5000mAh. About 3hrs of play. I will be putting this INSIDE my PSM case. All i have to do now is make a case that will have the PSOne LCD in it, but a rectangular black case like the GameGlass for the slimline.
