I would personally warn you against getting the the 680/690 - they have a crappy CF slot, bad speakers, a screen prone to failure, a crappy windows CE, and much fewer apps for it than HPC 2000.
I'm much happier with the small amount of extra dough I invested to get a 720 - the difference is incredible. The difference between Windows CE 2.11 (6x0) and Windows HPC 2000 is enough to warrant the model upgrade, let alone the harddware problems that plagued the earlier versions.

That is hella good. Hey, if anyone's looking for a sub-laptop, look out for fujitsu-seimens lifebooks! I used to try and carry my HP omnibook into uni, but that was so damn heavy it just wasnt worth it! The lifebook is literally smaller than a page of A4 and weighs nothing! Mine's a lifebook b2175- just slips in my bag and job's a goodun! Even has integrated ethernet so you don't have to carry the docking station around! Oh yeah, best thing about it is... Touchscreen! Now that is something special. It's great for age of empires
UKok!
