I got a Jornada 720!

This is the reason I couldn't buy a new video card... The HP Jornada 720!
It runs Windows CE, handhelp PC 2000.
It is amazing in itself (plays divx, mp3, snes emulator, so on)

It's running Doom in this picture.

I'm mainly using it for programming - I have PocketC on it and I'm coding away! Too bad it doesn't have 3d acceleration... What can one expect from a handheld?

As you can see it's qutie small - only a little longer than the DS. You can add a wireless PCMCIA card and have internet access - it has Internet Explorer 4.01 on it.

All this for only $96! It was over a grand when it came out in 2001.
I thought this was so cool I'd share it with you.

I'd see about picking one of these up if I didnt have a GP2X coming in the mail. Maybe I'll look into it in the future.

Yeah, I'd say it was a good deal though it's more aimed at writing code / Microsoft Word than playing games.. The DivX playback isn't perfect but it's acceptable. I'm sure the GP2x is probably better in that respect.

i had a jornada 430 once. it was old school. i came across this once while programming for it (embedded visual tools. if you dont know about it, you should)

you got a pretty good deal on that, they go for over 100 on ebay usually, i been wantin somethin like that but im too damn cheap to spring for even an old tablet
