iPod vs. PSP
Moderator: Moderators
I just don't understand how people can have 60 gigs of songs and activly lissen to them all. With my old mp3 player 128 mb was just fine for me, infact I never lissened to more than 3 or 4 of them at a time. Now with my PSP 1 gig seems like too much, I have no idea how people could fill 60 times that.

you'd be surprised how much music people have
My Dad's friend sold his 40Gb ipod buy a 60gb one because he filled it up too quickly. Probably by the time you're 45 you'll have a whole laod more music

My friend did full length movies and they only took 1 hour to encode...Radon199 wrote:
This website is just up your ally. Apperintly it took 12 hours to encode the test movie for the iPod and just 3 for the PSP.
The PSP encoded file was 150 mb less than the iPods and at the same quality.
The Ipod playing the video lasted 2 hours and 21 minutes where as the PSP lasted 7 hours and 30 minutes. Choose for yourself.
There is also a 4gb hard drive currently out for the psp. Or you could adapt other memory cards with larger capacities using this.
Unfortunatly the PSP has a max size of 4 gigs at the moment. But thats only because Sony needed a concreete number in the firmware. They will have to do some codeing to get it too accsept memory sticks bigger than 4 gigs but since they havn't actualy made 4 gig sticks yet i'm gonna say thats a ways off. Thats the thing I don't like about this idea of making a new PSP with an internal HD. Sure, you might get a 10 gig PSP but by then your stuck with a 10 gig PSP just like the iPod. Atleast with the memory sticks you can expand your data capacity if you wish. The only real other problem with a new version of the PSP is that if they put a 20 gig drive in it it's going to HAVE to be atleast $100 more than the current PSP if not more and that will make it lose some people to an 20 gig iPod that is way cheeper.
WARNING: RANDOM FACT ALERT! Did you know that? The iPod was inspired by Star Trek: The Next Generation in the episode when Data is lissening to 5 songs at the same time all on his computer. (Damn re-runs of How William Shatner Changed the Word...all the Star Trek facts are stuck in my head.)

To rap things up. I am going for the iPod; more storage room, smaller, and cheaper in the long run. I really thought about the PSP but with 1GB memory sticks being $60+ and it being fragile, I'm dropping it (until I have the extra income, knock on wood).
Again thanks for the help.
P.S. My dad mentioned to me that the engineer he works with has a 300GB hard drive filled with MP3s. Not a single song is Rap, that's a lot of music!

This sorta pertains too the Ipod and the PSP.
I resently download the iTunes Remote for my PSP witch allows me to control iTunes on my computer with my PSP so I can be double lazy and not get up to change songs. In a new update of iTunes Remote you can now control iPods that are attatched to your PC.
So yes... it is now posible to contol your iPod that is connected to your PC with your PSP.
