I've have been viewing some of the other threads and came across one that dealt with taking a ps1 and just connecting a screen and battery, no modding of the case or inside. And then it hit me, cant I just do this with my N64P? also what type of battery should I use so I don't need to use a regulator. I want this prodject to be soder free.

it's impossible to do that with an N64 w/o soldering. you need a 7.2v-9v battery and a regulator to get 3.3v. the reason you can do that with PSone is because it was made to be semi-portable, unlike N64

thats right, you would have to do some sodlering no matter what. But if you woudl like to simplify it a lot, you could empty out the wall power supply and put the batterys and DC-DC converter in there. You could also mod the N64 AV plug with a plug that fits in the PS1 LCD's AV in jack. That way, you wouldn't even need to open the PS1 LCD or the N64 to make it portable.
