The screen cannot be backlit. It has been tried before. The screen image completely washes out. The screen was not designed for being backlit, only front lit. If you want it lit, buy a front light from an online store. there are many different ones to look at, but the best in my oppinion is the "Nyko Worm Light".

Buy a Game Boy Light. It was a Game Boy Pocket with a frontlight installed in the factory. But sadly they're pretty rare outside Japan.

Why not just use a GBA SP? As far as I know it still has the Z80 (right?) chip in it for the GB/GBC games...

Your all wrong!

Scream "Let there be light!" during a thunderstorm and it will work!

Just kidding.

Err...I'd just buy an SP.

Well the Sp's cart slot is all upside down and terrible for the GBCam. Check out cennar's GBSP/GBP modification.

Maybe you should mod a GB camera to work on an SP, you would live in infamy, people would shout "Whoa! Its luc! He made a camera work on the SP!" and they would all call you the GTO, and shout, "Oh Luc, I'm paralyzed! I would die without you!" If you get the reference, you get this:

There is something i have been wanting to do but what i want to do is for GBA,
Wire a 2 White LED circuit, power it with a 3v.\

put a 2 pin tactile switch on the circuit to turn it on and off

Open the GBP(A) take out the guts.

make space in the shell, for the Lights and put them in

cut a hole for the tactile switch

put it all together.

Switch on the system, and turn on front-light

Could this work?

It might work, but look at the images of the afterburner kit, the screen still gets washed out compared to the newer SP and even the older SP.

This a pretty retarded idea, but maybe you can make a transparent face plate that can click onto the face of the GB pocket, but built in leds inside/under the faceplate would run on ecternal batteries?

What you need to do is extend the front of the case to make the screen placement deeper add the LED's on each side of the screen with reflective backing to direct the light side to side.

Fnd the pos and ground on the extention thing and there you have it. The ground is usually the outer metel part of the extention. Not that I've done it, but it's simple enough, front lit, and shouldn't wash out the picture.
