My XBOX

Post by gamer2 »

Well,

My Xbox i think is giving out. i bought it at launch and it never gave me any trouble. Lately i have been geting messages like "Disc is Dirty or Damaged, Please eject" and the disc is brand spanking new outa the box. I suspect the lense is dirty but i dont have a lense cleaner. Could it be worn out.

I get the message after so and so hours of gameplay.

Can some-one help

Or maybe turn off the xbox and like sam said go outside and play while your xbox is cooling off?

all lasers eventually die. all of them. there is a potentiometer on the laser assembly that you can adjust to increase the intensity of your laser. find instructions on the internet.

but cranking it up makes it die faster. eventually you'll need a new drive. ebay.

I say purchase a new drive, shouldn't be too much to snag one off Ebay.

Nicholai has the best opinion here.

Or give it to me for free, or softmod it.

So you know you will have to do some modding to make the Xbox accept the hard drive. Either by mod chip or by blessing the new hard drive with the lock code of the old one.

I say post this in the appropriate forum.......and that you probably need a new laser.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

My Xbrick has been making some gut-wrenching crunching / grinding sounds while playing over the past couple weeks, but has only frozen once. I'll just keep playing until it catches fire and then worry about it.

When it burns up, you'll have a nice doorstop.
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.
