So, basically I am ripping through books lately between work girlfriend, and friends I can seem to put a book down at night, reading a solid 100 pages. Anyone suggest a good book for me? I dont want anything to wierd, something that a local library. Side note, name some of your favorite books.

As of now im just about finished the catcher in the rye. No dumb posts. Spam in this will piss me off. You know who I am talking about, and if you hijack my thread, I will be ultimatly pissed.

Read 'The Cuckoo's Egg' by Clifford Stoll. It's an account of a 80's system adminstrator trackign a cracker in Germany.

We have to read Lord of the flies for english, it's actualy quite good comeing from a guy who dosn't read anything at all. Like literally... I hate books...

Something by Stephen King, something by Michael Crichton, something [Dune] by Frank Herbert.

If you choose King, go with the Dark Tower series, The Tommyknockers, The Talisman, Salem's Lot (havent read, but plan to), The Stand (havent read), or one of the other ones I'm sure you know of.
If Crichton, go with Sphere, Prey, Timeline, Andromeda Strain and Jurassic Park.

And if you want something long, read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. While its 1150 pgs, the political aspects of it are mindblowing at times. Anthem, also by Rand, is a good one about a man who flees from a distopia.
Slaughterhouse-5 by Kurt Vonnegut is the only book I've read by him, buts its awesome, should read that as well.
Animal Farm by George Orwell is good, if you didn't read it in school.
A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway is pretty cool, although Hemingway lacked the skill of writing dialogues.
Some of HG Wells' books are pretty good, Island of Dr. Moreau, The Time Machine, The Invisible Man.

the prince of nothing series(scott bakker) the 1632 series(eric flint) the dragonrider series (anne and todd mccaffrey) the sholan alliance series(lisanne norman) the long run (daniel keys moran, my fave book) anything by piers anthony hell i could keep going but i have to get off the computer now lol

Grade 10? read it last year :/. Personally, #1 book of grade 10 was to kill a mocking bird.

what about the hitchiker's guide "5 part trilogy"? start with The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, if you haven't read it already, and get the other four books after.

I just finished reading them again, (er, fourth time, I believe

) and I love 'em....if I wasn't so busy, I would read 'em again, 'cause they're that great

ok. man. a really good book that i have read in the last 5 years is "From A Buick 8" by stephen king. it kind of has a weird title until you learn what happens. its crazy though. it really really creeped me out....

and back when i was younger i read most of tom clancy's "NetForce" books... or is it Net Force? anyways. they are about futuristic internet police who live in a world where there is a paralell virtual reality. kind of like the matrix but without killer robots.

A Christmas Story was a good one (the book not the movie) (well the movie is aweosme but back on topic) Right now I'm reading a biography of Ralph Baer and one that my grandfather wrote (about his life) which is sad saying that he died this year...
