Another PSone LCD 12v idea...

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Another PSone LCD 12v idea...

Post by riva16 »

Ok, the official Sony Psone LCD doesn't work at 12v because there's other things that run off the line leading to the 7805... Well... What if you cut the trace that splits off the 7805, and re-wired the output from the 7805 to this trace... So 12 into 5v regulator, the trace would need cut, and re-wire off the regulated 5v line into the split? So, the circuitry thats in-line with the 7805 would run on 5v like the LCD itself, an you could use 12v instead of HAVING to bring it down to 7.5 or whatever... Kinda hard to explain...

We're unsure if the things before the 7805s will run off 5V, but if they will it wouldn't be too hard to just desolder the 2 7805s, jump the I/O traces of them, and just input 5V to the lcd.
