Amiga In a Box

Post by Unidentified Assilant »

Amiga In a Box... a nice tool for fans of one of the better home computers of the early 90's :)

I just got this, and it's amazing, it can run HD games from Amiga, which obviously is a lot quicker than WinUAE's virtual floppy drives, and all you need is a kickstart 3.1 rom, Workbench 3.1 ADF (which can legally acquired from taking them off an Amiga 1200 or purchasing for $30 from Amiga Forever), you can also use WHDLoad programs... so almost every game is playable (as some Floppy-only games are also WHDLoad now)

I highly recommend this :)

Before the change of "Portables of Doom" to PHP, it had a section on Amiga. In it they had a link to a site that has a listing of Amiga motherboards. Of them they had a PPC one called AmigaOne.

Now as for an AmigaP, I'd say you can make one out of the Amigas like the 500, 600, and 1200. Granted it wouldnt be as small as Ben's Atari laptop but your working with 16bit hardware for a desktop computer and in the middle of the era (where chip combination wasnt a consern).

i think yoyur best bet would be an a600 or 1200 or cdtv or something the a500/1000 mobos are very large, plus the a1000 powersuplpy is around the same size as an xbox 360 PS

It's always been there, but it got lost in the PHP change. You can find it on the Alternatives page, under emulation.

Amiga In A Box is a free download, as with WinUAE and it runs on your PC to run Hard Drive Amiga Games under an emulator...

pictures? aiab.emuunlim.com

Although to get it running, like I said eariler, you need Workbench 3.1 ADF and a Kickstart 3.0/3.1 rom, buy them from Colanto, or get them yourself with an Amiga, I have an Amiga and these (A1200), so i'm one of the lucky ones :P
